Ive been there, lookin alot worse these days
This was not a calcite mine. The site was Chinn's Cave House Gas Station and was blasted into the mountain for this purpose. They served sandwiches inside and also had some gaming machines. Chinn opened this place to take advantage of touring which came into fashion with the advent of the automobile. Chinn joined the military and retired at the rank of Col. He was a weapons expert and actually wrote the book on machine guns back in his day. In later years this was was used as a workshop for Col. Chinn where he did R&D work on firearms.
