Closed in 1993, Consolidated Grain consisted of 40 silos that dominated the skyline in the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio for decades.
History
Located along Mill Creek in South Cummingsville in Cincinnati, Ohio, the abandoned Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. silos on Beekman Street sits amongst aging, deteriorated houses, many adjacent to decrepit or vacant industrial buildings and overgrown lots. The facility was once served on the former Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton mainline — a line that saw a major drop in traffic after Queensgate was constructed. Traffic switched to the Winton Place connection, constructed in 1970.(2)
According to a Building Cincinnati article, Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group has owned the property since 2002, and that Nationwide Demo is the demolition contractor.(1)
